TÜRDEF PRECIDENCY:“We have elevated our relations with Hungary to the level of enhanced strategic partnership”

Speaking at a joint press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Orban, President Erdoğan said: “With the joint political declaration we have just signed with Prime Minister Orban of Hungary, we have elevated our relations with Hungary, which were at the level of strategic partnership, to the level of enhanced strategic partnership. It is also a sign of our vision for the future.”     President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a joint press conference with Prime Minister Viktor Orban following the 6th meeting of the Türkiye-Hungary High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council. “OUR BILATERAL TRADE VOLUME HAS APPROXIMATED $4 BILLION” Stating that high level talks and consultations have positive effects on the bilateral relations between Türkiye and Hungary, President Erdoğan said: “As of the first 11 months of this year, our trade volume has left behind last year and approximated 4 billion dollars. We are determined to reach 6 billion dollars, our common target. In this regard, we have established the joint economic and trade committee in addition to the current joint economic commission mechanism. We will hold the first meeting of the joint committee in the upcoming months in Türkiye and ensure that our trade and investments gain momentum. We promote mutual investments and support our firms’ cooperation in Hungary, Türkiye and third countries alike.” “With the joint political declaration we have just signed with Prime Minister Orban of Hungary, we have elevated our relations with Hungary, which were at the level of strategic partnership, to the level of enhanced strategic partnership. It is also a sign of our vision for the future,” President Erdoğan said. “WE WORK WITH ALL OUR STRENGTH FOR THE TERMINATION OF ISRAEL’S ATROCITY” Underscoring that all aspects of the Türkiye-Hungary relations were reviewed at the talks, President Erdoğan said that they also discussed the Türkiye-European Union and current matters, including the developments in Ukraine and Gaza, and added: “We agree with our Hungarian friends that violence is not a resolution to the wars in Palestine and Ukraine.” Further stressing that they have voiced the necessity of focusing on the works aimed at a diplomatic resolution since the very beginning, President Erdoğan stated that Türkiye stands ready to revive the uncompleted Istanbul process should there be a demand from the parties, and went on to say: “As regards Gaza, we work with all our strength for the termination of Israel’s atrocity. We have since the very first day been exerting intensive diplomatic efforts to establish emergency ceasefire and to prevent the spread of conflicts. We have seen once again with the latest developments that it is now inevitable to establish a sovereign, independent and geographically integrated State of Palestine on the 1967 borders. The international community has primary responsibility in sending rights messages to Israel and putting an end to the ongoing massacre. In this regard, I wholeheartedly believe that our friend Hungary will not hesitate to provide the necessary support.”
