Thousands rally in London in solidarity with Palestine    LONDON, Saturday, October 14, 2023 (WAFA) – Thousands of people gathered today in the heart of the British capital, London, united in their call to end the Israeli occupation and to put an end to the ongoing genocide being carried out these days against the Palestinian people. The day began with participants amassing near the headquarters of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in the morning. They later embarked on a march through the city, and in the afternoon, the demonstration culminated near the UK Parliament and the residence of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Downing Street. The thousands of demonstrators hoisted Palestinian flags and banners bearing messages of solidarity with the people of Palestine, facing Israeli aggression these days. The banners displayed slogans such as "Free Palestine," "Stop the Massacre," "Israel is a terrorist state," and "Sanctions on Israel," among others.  Chants were aimed at the governments of Britain and the United States for supporting the occupying state of Israel in its current onslaught on the people of Palestine, especially in the besieged Gaza Strip. Jewish groups opposed to Zionism also came to show solidarity with Palestine, including rabbis from Neturei Karta, an international ultra-Orthodox anti-Zionist group who call for the peaceful dismantling of the modern state of Israel. The rally was organized by a coalition of UK activist groups including the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Palestine Forum in Britain and Friends of Al-Aqsa. Earlier today, the headquarters of the BBC broadcaster, which is located close the start of the march, was sprayed with red paint by activists affiliated with the Palestine Action group, a grassroots organization seeking to dismantle Israeli occupation's weapons factories across the UK.
