President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech regarding the election results at the Presidential Complex. Beginning his remark by saying “We love Türkiye very much,” President Erdoğan stated that the second round of the presidential elections was completed without any significant problems. “According to the unofficial results of the election, our nation has entrusted us with the presidency for another 5 years.  I would like to express my gratitude to each and every member of my nation who once again deemed us worthy of the responsibility of governing the country.” “IT IS TIME TO UNITE AROUND OUR NATIONAL GOALS AND DREAMS” Thanking all voters regardless of their preferences on May 14 and May 28, President Erdoğan said: “I would like to thank every citizen who went to the polls at home and abroad, who upheld their will and proved the strength of our democracy.” “As you remember, we always said ‘no one will lose in our country when we win’, President Erdoğan said. “Similarly, we said, 'when we win, the only losers will be the owners of dirty scenarios about our country and their apparatuses, terrorist organizations and loan sharks. Let me reiterate the same promise; No one has lost today. Every single one of our 85 million citizens has won.” “As required by the responsibility entrusted to us by our nation, we are not offended, resentful or angry with anyone.  It is time to leave aside all the disputes and quarrels about the election period, and unite and band together around our national goals and dreams,” President Erdoğan underlined. “WE WILL FORM A STRONG ECONOMY ADMINISTRATION” “Resolving the problems caused by the increases in prices due to inflation and compensating for the welfare losses will be the most urgent items on the agenda of the upcoming days,” President Erdoğan underscored, and added: “It is not difficult for us to resolve these problems.” “Confidence and stability are two very important notions. I have always discussed with my friends these two notions: confidence and stability. We will continue our path with this approach and form a strong economy administration on the pillars of these notions. We are designing a finance administration that has an international reputation and an investment- and employment-oriented production economy.” “WE WILL INCREASE OUR FIGHT AGAINST TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS” Stressing that they will turn the means provided by Türkiye’s increasing production potential in every area, from industry and energy, into the engine of a new economic initiative that will surprise everyone, President Erdoğan noted that the balances shaken by global developments are being rebuilt, and continued as follows: “Türkiye will have a very significant strength in this picture and acquire its rightful place as well. We will increase our fight against the security threats and terrorist organizations in our south. We will operate in a more active manner the political and diplomatic channels. In short, by accurately directing the regional developments we will keep all these away from our borders through multidimensional works.” “WE WILL ENSURE THE RETURN OF 1 MILLION PEOPLE WITHIN A YEAR” Further noting that they consider the voluntary return of the refugees, which he stated is also a request of citizens, as a part of their policy, President Erdoğan said: “It is our duty to fulfill our citizens’ expectations about this issue through ways and methods that befit our country and nation. We have thus far ensured the voluntary return of nearly 600 thousand people to the safe zones on the Syrian lands. We have cooperated with Qatar; we will ensure the return of another 1 million people within a year through a new housing project. We will continue our path with investments that will further raise the bar in the areas, from education to healthcare, transportation to energy, industry to agriculture, and tourism to sports, where we have introduced a century’s worth of achievements in our country.” President Erdoğan noted that by elevating the ongoing investments in transportation and energy to an international level, they will strengthen Türkiye’s position as a hub country.
